About Us: The Root of Our Story

Hi, I’m Charlie, the owner and creative force behind Wild Root.

It all began with a simple idea: that plant-based food should not only taste incredible but also be good for you. Because when people eat better, they feel better too…

I went vegan back in 2014, and let me tell you, it opened up a whole new world in the kitchen. I fell head over heels for cooking. Who knew whipping up plant-based magic could be so much fun?
But then I hit a roadblock. I tried every vegan cheese on the shelves, and honestly? They were a letdown.

So I gave it a go, and the results spoke for themselves.

We Only Collaborate With Suppliers Who Care

All of our cheese is made with cashews sourced from Zantye Cashew Nuts. Their processing units have created approximately 300 jobs in Bicholim, Goa, with around 90% of employees being women. 

The company offers good wages and working conditions, and funds health and education projects that support local farmers, workers, and their families.

Zantye Cashew Nuts go above and beyond to give back to the Goan community, so when picking a supplier, they felt like the obvious choice. 

At Wild Root, we strive to practice what we preach, and so only using ethically sourced ingredients is a priority for us as a business and aligns with our personal values.
